Environmental Scientist – VIC

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Scientist with a strong focus on contaminated land to join our dynamic team. As the ideal candidate you will play a crucial role in assessing, remediating, and managing contaminated land sites to protect both human health and the environment.

Requirements:

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments on contaminated land, including site investigation, soil and groundwater sampling, and data analysis
  • Develop and implement remediation strategies to mitigate the impact of contaminants and restore land to its original condition
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documents for clients, regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Engage in fieldwork, including sampling, site visits, and data collection, to support project objectives

As the ideal candidate you will have: 

  • Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working on contaminated land projects
  • Sound knowledge of current environmental legislation, standards and guidelines
  • Proven project management expertise in the relevant industry
  • Demonstrated client contact, liaison and management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in field sampling techniques
  • Computer software experience using ESdat, gINT, ProUCL, Surfer, GW Chart, QGIS (highly desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
