Senior Environmental Scientist – SA

FMG Engineering is a very well-known and highly regarded multi-disciplinary National Engineering Consultancy providing services and solutions to the development, property and urban infrastructure sectors. With offices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, we employ over 140 staff, comprising engineers, scientists, technicians, and support staff.

We require a suitably qualified and talented senior environmental scientist with contaminated land management experience to join the team in South Australia.  Your role will involve bidding for and winning work, conduct contaminated site investigations, prepare technical reports and perform other related project management tasks.

As the ideal candidate you will have: 

  • Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience delivering environmental projects in the areas of due diligence, contaminated land investigations (including assessment for environmental audits), risk assessment and remediation
  • Sound knowledge of current environmental legislation, standards and guidelines
  • Proven project management expertise in the relevant industry
  • Demonstrated client contact, liaison and management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in field sampling techniques
  • Established relationships with builders, developers, architects, urban planners and project managers (highly desirable)
  • Computer software experience using ESdat, gINT, ProUCL, Surfer, GW Chart etc (highly desirable)
