Senior Structural Engineer

FMG Engineering is a very well-known and highly regarded multi-disciplinary National Engineering Consultancy providing services and solutions to the development, property and urban infrastructure sectors. With offices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, we employ over 140 staff, comprising engineers, scientists, technicians, and support staff.

In the structural team our work is varied and challenging. Our clients include Architects, Builders, Developers, Councils and Government Organisations. Projects vary, typically up to $20M in construction value

Due to exponential growth our team require a senior structural engineer with at least 8 years of demonstrated structural design experience. Developed technical abilities, being chartered, strong people management, communication, project leadership and project management skills as well as being able to build strong client relations will be highly regarded.

Your role would see you working closely with the department lead, the structures team and the wider office to deliver quality outcomes on projects and achieve company and customer objectives. Deliver quality to the highest standard whilst meeting client service levels will be of high importance. You should be comfortable that your communication skills will allow you to communicate clearly with clients, builders and architects

We will develop your technical and softer skills and opportunities will exist to develop your career. You will also be expected to share technical knowledge and mentor more junior members.

As the ideal candidate you will have: 

• University degree qualifications in structural engineering
• A minimum of 8 years of structural engineering consultancy design experience
• Charted Engineers status
• Demonstrated experience within Australia of commercial building structural engineering design
• Melbourne experience
• Demonstrated experience of successful project management
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with a variety of people including builders, architects and clients
• Commercial acumen
