From undergraduate to Civil Team leader, industry advocate and now the 2021 UDIA Stuart Main Young Professional of the Year! Jordan’s rise to success is an inspirational journey, that has only just begun.
Jordan joined FMG Engineering in 2014 as part of FMG’s undergraduate work experience program. His passion for engineering and vision for the future of civil design did not go unnoticed and he was offered a full-time graduate position with FMG in 2016.
Jordan “learnt the ropes” under the guidance of some of the state’s most respected engineers within the Urban Development sector, and very quickly took on project management roles and delivery of works including the upgrade of high-profile CBD streets, popular walking trails and public spaces.
In 2018, Jordan grasped the opportunity to take on the role of team leader within FMG Engineering’s South Australian Civil Team. Jordan’s natural affiliative leadership style has seen his team, of 8-10 engineers, designers, drafters and administrators, achieve much success.
Jordan rose to the challenge we were all presented with during 2020 and the sudden shift to virtual management of engineering projects across the state. Focusing on open communication and high-level online support Jordan ensured his teams’ job security whilst continuing to deliver client projects on time.
Jordan’s passion for engineering extends beyond the day to day – His vision for the industry is one of social and economic sustainability, with increased representation and diversity. By maintaining active participation in the urban development industry with direct contribution to residential subdivisions, aged care and medium-density sectors, Jordan indirectly supports local government initiatives to improve public realm development through the development of various guidelines, streetscape reconstructions and innovative places for people.
Jordan has worked on projects such as – King William Road Streetscape Reconstruction, Waterfall Gully Trail – Storm damage repair, Adelaide Tram Line and many high-profile CBD streetscapes and road restoration works.
