FMG had the opportunity to assess and consult on many unique structures across Australia, and the Amazon Waterlily Pond in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens is definitely on that list.
Originally built in 1868, the waterlily pond was on site well before the Adelaide Botanic Gardens was established. After 150 years, the waterlily pond was showing signs of leakage due to age – requiring prompt inspection and repair.
Quick to action, Forensic Engineer Remon Rabbah led the investigation. After assessing the cause of the leakage, FMG worked closely with a waterproofing specialist to develop a long-term solution that respected the historical structure – ensuring the waterlily pond can be enjoyed for many generations to come!
