Summary

The Murray Bridge Racing facility at Gifford Hill demonstrates FMG Engineering’s dedication to achieving successful outcomes for our clients throughout the entire life-cycle of a project.

Over the 10-year engineering journey FMG worked closely with our project partners, valued clients and the community to develop this green-field site into a state-of-the-art racing facility and function centre from the ground up.

The scale of this project required active project management, extensive planning and staging to ensure its success. As lead engineer for the racetrack, FMG oversaw the coordination of key contractors to facilitate the cost-effective delivery and best value of all major requirements.

Environmental

As a previous green-field site, the FMG civil team designed extensive stormwater systems for the racetrack and an on-site wastewater treatment facility to service the function centre. The turf track itself features a free draining profile to ensure racing can resume quickly during wet weather.

In addition to the new track, the architecturally designed function centre will become a community hub for the future Gifford Hill residential development – creating a long-term income stream for our client.
