The new Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) project is a shining example of a complex, large-scale investigation comprised of various phases of environmental investigations, assessment and remediation.
Spanning the equivalent of 3 city blocks, the world-class Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest hospital ever undertaken in Australia and the single largest infrastructure project in South Australia’s history.
FMG Engineering was engaged to design and implement a soil remediation strategy for the site. In order to conduct these works, a Remediation Management Plan (RMP) was produced during the tender phase. Several iterations and further investigations of the Royal Adelaide Hospital site were conducted prior to the soil remediation works in order to address the identified data gaps and confirm the remedial strategy provided in the Remediation Management Plan.
“The main construction phase suffered no lost time due to soil contamination.”
