Picton NSW Flood, Disaster Response

The town of Picton, NSW was flooded in June 2016 due to a severe storm causing Stonequarry Creek to burst its banks. The town centre was inundated with depths in excess of 1.5 metres causing significant damage to commercial properties and disruption to business. Within a week from the flooding event, FMG dispatched a team of engineers from NSW, VIC and SA to provide the following engineering services in response to the urgent requests by Insurers and Builders:

  • Investigation and assessment of multiple commercial buildings in the main township (over 30 properties)
  • Universal Hydrological Investigation and Analysis of Entire Region
  • Expert Reports (causation and rectification)
  • Scope of Works for repair, rectification or reconstruction works
